Mindvalley

Mindvalley has a diverse, international audience, with significant demand for localized content, especially in Spanish and German-speaking markets. Traditionally, the company relied on human dubbing for localization, but faced scalability and cost challenges, and the long lead times associated with coordinating multiple vendors. This slowed down their ability to reach more non-English speaking users efficiently.

To overcome these hurdles, Mindvalley turned to Papercup's AI dubbing technology to streamline its content production process and improve scalability. Using AI allowed Mindvalley to significantly reduce turnaround times and localize more content at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional dubbing. While human dubbing still plays a crucial role for high-emotion content such as meditation and mindfulness lessons, AI dubbing has become an essential part of the company&rsquo;s localization strategy for more scalable content.
Since adopting Papercup&rsquo;s AI dubbing solution, Mindvalley has more than doubled the content it localizes annually, allowing the company to better serve its non-English speaking users. The first pilot project in Spanish in 2021 exceeded expectations, with student ratings for dubbed content surpassing those of the original English versions. Additionally, the reduced production times and costs have enabled Mindvalley to explore new markets while maintaining its high standards of content quality.

Up until now, the WPT team has been using traditional dubbing services for each of their 24-episode seasons. Forced to deal with lead times stretching from 4 to 6 months, the company experienced ongoing challenges with timely content delivery and adaptation all while paying very high costs.

Electrify, looking to grow Veritasium&rsquo;s audience, decided to make the channel available in Brazilian Portuguese, opening up a unique opportunity for viewers in Brazil. This expansion is expected to significantly boost viewer engagement on Veritasium's channel and enhance video monetization for existing and new content.

For a science-focused YouTube channel like Veritasium, it is paramount to have quality AI dubbing. It is critical to guarantee that the intricate and specialized scientific terminology is not only accurately translated, but pronounced correctly in the translated language. Jamie Oliver has a strong German audience driven by local TV deals and sales of his cookbooks in the country. The Jamie Oliver team wanted to replicate German traction on social media and find a solution to the low engagement rates of their existing mode of translation – subtitles. Jamie Oliver enlisted Papercup to dub his content using our lifelike AI voices capable of reflecting his brand in other languages.

Convinced of the global appeal of the content, but unsure which other languages to target, the Jamie Oliver team also wanted to test and experiment with other languages on YouTube. Insider started out as a finance and business news site in 2007 and quickly grew its digital following across the US. With the backing of German media giant Axel Springer, it now has a strong foothold in most English speaking territories. To expand the business globally, Insider needed a localization solution that was scalable, accessible and free from the limitations of traditional dubbing or subtitling. By reaching more people globally, the company could build its global presence and unlock the full potential of its existing content by increasing its ad revenue.

Sky News had achieved solid reach for its UK newsrooms with video content posted throughout the day on TV, syndication, digital platforms, and social media. Now it was looking to expand its audience. While the content created was of global interest, it was limited to the English-speaking market, so the next logical step was translating existing content and into other global languages. Unsatisfied with the limitations of traditional dubbing or subtitles, Sky News wanted something more scalable, and accessible. It also wanted to maximise the potential of YouTube as a global content platform by sharing its existing content with new viewers across the world: enter Papercup.

Sky News already had an award-winning catalog of video content, but it needed a way to accurately translate that content into different languages at scale. Internationalization is at the core of Bloomberg&rsquo;s strategy across the whole business; it&rsquo;s a complex process with multi-threaded workflows and stakeholders. While subtitles are good for reaching audiences abroad, there is a significant preference for dubbed content, especially across LATAM.
Using AI dubbing allows Bloomberg to grow revenue from video content that would have otherwise remained unlocalized in the absence of a scalable dubbing service.

Bloomberg is steadily growing its Spanish-speaking audience in a low risk, low complexity way. Its new Spanish-language social channels gained nearly a million views in the first couple of weeks and are expected to reach the multi-millions within months.&nbsp;
Bloomberg is realizing the value of its global brand recognition by providing Spanish-speaking audiences with a reputable source of news in their native language. As more media companies look to internationalize, entering markets pre-saturation is the key to continued success.

<h2>1. Increasing the value of top-tier content&nbsp;</h2>The Papercup/Fremantle partnership is currently two-pronged. Firstly, Idols, Got Talent, and The X Factor is evergreen content that performs consistently well for the media provider. Fremantle’s YouTube channel showed that this content gained traction with Spanish-speakers, so the partnership with Papercup set out to leverage it by creating a dedicated Spanish-language YouTube channel: Los Mejores Talentos En Español.&nbsp; <h2>2. De-risking further international expansion&nbsp;</h2>Los Mejores Talentos En Español (The Best of Talents), the Spanish-speaking YouTube channel, performed extremely well, so Fremantle looked to replicate its success by localizing the content for Arabic-speaking regions in which the English version showed traction. Rather than invest heavily in building audiences in the region right out of the gate, Fremantle is piloting its content first using AI dubbing.

The brand new Los Mejores Talentos En Español has amassed 18 million views in seven months. By AI dubbing its top-tier content, Fremantle has been able to populate an entirely new channel without incurring the costs or being held back by the turnaround times of studio dubbing.&nbsp; In doing so, Fremantle has built a strong Spanish-speaking audience in record time and unlocked an entirely new revenue stream for existing top-performing content. The same content in Arabic is proving what Fremantle thought – there’s a market for this type of content in Arabic-speaking regions.&nbsp; The real win for Fremantle is that there was no need to integrate complicated localization workflows or secure hefty budgets in order to validate key proof points about where and how to grow globally.
